Canadian Forces Administrative Orders (CFAOs)
Effective February 29, 2012, the CFAO collection will no longer be available on Internet. However, the CFAO collection will still be available on the defence intranet for members of the Canadian Forces and employees of the Department of National Defence. Please contact Sonia Pion for any electronic copies. In order to process your request in a timely manner, please specify the exact CFAO required with detailed information regarding specific timelines.
For legal purposes, the paper copy is still considered the official copy.
Please be advised that the CFAOs are in the process of being superseded by Defence Administrative Orders and Directives (DAODs), manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs) or other instruments, or are being cancelled completely with no replacement instrument, as required. As such, CFAOs are neither being written nor amended.
The OPI for the CFAO collection is DSCS 3.
Contact DSCS 3-4 (Mark.McGaraughty@forces.gc.ca) if you intend to:
- cancel a CFAO;
- cancel any part of a CFAO; or
- draft an instrument, other than a DAOD, that will cancel a CFAO or any part of a CFAO (CFAO Cancellation Process).
